VILLA "IZVORA"
 

The village of Arbanassi is situated in the vicinity of the mediaeval capital of Bulgaria – the town of Veliko Tarnovo. Orthodox Greeks, Albanians and Macedonian Bulgarians established the settlement in the XIV century. The settlement reached its full bloom during the XVII century. Because of its fascinating charm, unique architectural monuments and climatic conditions, the village of
Arbanassi was declared a resort in 1921 and in 2000 it was declared a “Historical village” of national significance. The houses, with their 300 years of history, have preserved their authentic look and are quite impressive for their unique architecture, wood-carving and art plaster ornaments.
In the area of the village of Arbanassi there are 5 preserved churches and 2 monasteries, which were built and icon painted in the end of the XVI and the beginning of the XVII century. One of the miraculous icons of Virgin Mary is preserved in the “Assumption of the Holy Mother of God” Monastery.
